Pineywoods Beef Barbacoa Seasoning/ braised meat
This seasoning is a great dry marinade for our stew beef or any of our larger roast/braising cuts. We like our stew beef served on top of warm tortillas.
Excellent recipe for the summer months when you need a break from the grill!
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: approx. 4hrs
Barbacoa Seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 tsp ancho chili poweder
1/4 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp dried thyme
1/8 tsp cinnamon
2 cloves garlic
Braising
1 lb Pineywoods stew beef
2 C Pineywoods beef bone broth
1 1/2 tsp cider vinegar
1 1/2 tsp brown sugar
Instructions
Salt marinade the meat overnight.
Next day, brown off the meat in a heavy bottomed pan over high-medium heat.
Add bone broth, vinegar and sugar to pan.
Bring to boil. Reduce to simmer and cover.
Cook on low on stove top or in a preheated oven at 275 for approximately 4 hours. Meat should be fork tender.
